Celebrating 60th wedding anniversary for Dayton and Janet Merrell

Married on Sept. 6, 1959, Dayton and Janet Merrell, Kokomo, are celebrating 60 years together with a family dinner. They were married at Upper Deer Creek Church, northwest of Kokomo, by the Rev. Everett Nixon.
Lifelong farmers in Ervin Township, Howard County, they continue to live in the same immediate area.
Dayton and Janet have three children, son Ted and wife Jean Merrell, son Terry and wife Nieta Merrell, and daughter Teena and son-in-law Steve Wallace. They all live within a mile of each other and are blessed with 11 grandchildren. The four grandsons are Blake Merrell, from Tampa, Florida, Brayden (Lauren), Karson (Abby), and Dustin (Briyanni) Merrell, all from Kokomo. The seven granddaughters are Katie (Dustin) Smith, Kokomo, Karlie (Rob) Wright, Zionsville, Kira (Jake) Archer, Klair Merrell, Lydia, Mia and Ella Wallace, from Kokomo.
Three great-grandchildren, Addy, Cam and Cole, have blessed this family, with another great-granddaughter expected in February.
